Two sisters almost mistakenly marry wrong grooms after mix-up due to power failure

Due to a power outage, two sisters are on the verge of marrying the incorrect bridegroom.

After a power outage at their wedding ceremony in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain district, India, two sisters almost wedded the wrong husbands due to a mix-up in the dark.

According to the Times of India, three grooms, Rahul of Khirakhedi village, Bhola, and Ganesh of Dangwada village, arrived at Rameshlal Relot’s house on the same day at the same site last Thursday to marry his three daughters, Nikita, Karishma, and Komal.

Nikita was set to marry Bhola, while Karishma was set to marry Ganesh.

The three brides entered a room with family members at the appointed time to complete the ‘Mai Mata Pooja’ rite, in which Nikita and Karishma were exchanged.

Some of the rites were allegedly conducted by the brides with the wrong grooms.

Both brides wore similar outfits with ghoonghats covering their faces, which added to the confusion.

When the power was restored, family members instantly recognized their error, just in time for the customary seven circumambulations (saat phere).

To make things right, the priests recited some mantras and had the brides and newlyweds retake their vows.

“As soon as they exited the room, the family members instantly recognized the error and corrected it. With the right match of bride and groom, the priest completed the seven vows ceremony “Lakhan Patela, a peasant, remarked
