Riots break out in Bauchi state as mob searches for lady over alleged blasphemy

Riots have erupted in Bauchi state as a crowd searches for Mrs Roda Jatau, who is accused of sharing a video in a WhatsApp group in which a convert allegedly ‘insulted’ the Prophet of Islam.

Mrs. Jatau works for the Bauchi State Primary Health Care, according to Vanguard.

She is thought to be from Gombe, but she married in the Warji local government region.

According to reports from the region, Muslim youths launched an immediate search for the lady after Jummaat prayers, but were unable to locate her since she had been taken away to safety.

As a result, enraged Muslim youths vandalized Christian properties in the region and set a few buildings on fire.
