The Nigerian Union of Allied Health Professionals on Sunday has called on the President, Muhammadu Buhari, to reverse his decision on the easing of COVID-19 lockdown which comes in effect today (Monday).
The NUAHP made the call in a through a statement which was signed by President , Dr Obinna Ogbonna, and it’s Secretary General, Martin Egbanubi.
As health workers advised the President, members of the Presidential task force on Covid-19 he sent recently to Kano State Showed concern about the high rate of community transmission in the state.
According to the Presidential team 80 percent of every 100 samples taken from the state for testing always comes out positive.
As of Match, Kano state had no record of COVID-19 , but o April 11, a former ambassador, who attended the Jumat service while awaiting his Covid-19 result, was tested positive with the virus.
As 5.51 pm on Sunday, there were 313 Covid-19 cases where record in he state , which was second to Lagos state that had the highest in the country.
President Muhammadu Buhari on his Nationawide broadcast on April, 27, Imposed a total Lockdown of Kano State and dispatched a team of experts to Kano state to stop the rapid spread of the virus .
But According to his Broadcast on April 27, he announced that there will be a gradual easing of the lockdown in the FCT, Ogun, and Lagos State, which started on March 30.
He, however placed a dusk to dawn curfew on the country and also banned inter-state movements.
