Melinda Gates has warned that there’ll be dead bodies littering the streets in African countries if the world doesn’t act fast to curb the spread of Coronavirus.
Mrs Gates said this while talking to CNN, on the novel Coronavirus and its effects within the Third World countries.
She said she is worried for Africa and fears that the continent won’t be able to handle the devastating effect of COVID-19.
Its about to be horrible in the developing world, ‘she warned.
‘Part of the reasons you’re seeing the case numbers still don’t look very bad, is because they don’t have access to several tests.
‘Look at what’s happening in Ecuador, they’re putting bodies out on the streets, you’re getting to see that in countries in Africa,” Mrs Gates noted.
Melinda Gates, who is additionally co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, fears things will get worst for Africa once cases peak due to poor health care systems and lack of humanitarian supports.
According to Mrs Gates, her worst nightmare was when she ’saw what China had to try to isolate enormous part of its population. My first thought was Africa. How within the world are they getting to deal with this.
‘I have been in townships everywhere Africa and slums. once we talk in country physical distancing and hand-washing, if you reside in slums who can’t physical distance, you have to go out and get your meals. You don’t have clean water to scrub your hands,” she added.
