Breaking: 11year-old Student dies as school dormitory caught fire in Anambra

    An 11-year-old student, with named Chigozie Anyichie, was killed in a fire outburst at the Patterson Memorial Grammar School, Awada, Onitsha, Anambra State on Sunday..

     According to Anambra State police command, Mohammed Haruna, who confirmed the incident, he said. Mr. John Abang, has commiserated with the entire family of the deceased and ordered a proper investigation.

    According to Haruna , the Incident was reported by the school Principal, Rev. Cajetan Anuforo.
    He said a section of the school dormitory was destroyed, concluding that the incident happened when the students we’re out in the field for their night prayers.

     He also said ,the fire was eventually put out by some staff and students of the school who later discovered that Chigozie Anyichie, who did not go out with the others was caught up in the fire. The deceased was burnt beyond recognition.

     Police detectives who was led by the Divisional police Officer, Awada division, CSP Tony Adeyi visited the scene and took the victim to the hospital where he was certified dead by a medical doctor …..

    The Corpse has been deposited at the Mortuary for postmortem examination. The major cause of the fire and the value of property that is been destroyed has not been ascertained.
