New Jersey Senator and member of the US senate foreign relations committee, Robert Menendez has gone against the arrest of Omoyele Sowore at the Federal High court in Abuja which light up an uproar

The most Senior Democrat in the US senator who wondered if President Muhammadu Buhari is cautious not aware that the arrest blacklisting is image, he also stated that the Activist ought to be celebrated and not to be incarcerated

The senator added that there will be severe consequences in the relationship between the US and Nigeria if any harm is done to Sowore

According to the senator the United States is watching and the world as a whole is watching too. I fear that the continuous harassment of Mr Omoyele Sowore, an activist and journalist whose only crime appears to be exercising his own right to freely express himself this is becoming symptomatic of increasingly closing political and civic space in Nigeria menendez said

the federal High court in Nigeria as twice ordered is released on bail and the state security agencies open the file the court order each time they giving me to conclude that I don’t Nigeria and no longer respectable of love or president buhari is woefully out of touch with what agents of his governments are doing in his name.

This is so so all acceptable in a country that called itself a democracy country. Journalist who risk their lives to expose the truth should be celebrated not incarcerated

It is so much an acceptable to daddy husband and the father of a US citizen blantant cruelty. Today my office has contacted ambassador in Nigeria in an effort to obtain answers on what actions United States is taking on the sowor family’s behalf

In next couple of days I will continue to engage with the state department in Washington to ascertain the impact of for the arrest of Mr sowore and other actives and journalist will have on our relationship with Nigeria. My hope is that the beautiful relationship you have with Nigeria will be reduced because of this event.
